This itinerary follows a focused desert route from Marrakech to Merzouga and back, with long scenic drives, selected cultural stops and one night in the Sahara desert camp.

DAY 1

Marrakech → High Atlas → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley

Your 3-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour begins with a morning departure from Marrakech. The route crosses the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka road, with time for scenic stops along the way. You continue toward Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages, before passing through Ouarzazate and the southern landscapes toward Dades Valley.

Overnight: Dades Valley or nearby area, depending on availability and route timing.

DAY 2

Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Erfoud → Merzouga Sahara

After breakfast, the journey continues through the Dades area toward Todra Gorge, known for its high canyon walls and palm-filled surroundings. From there, the route passes through Tinghir, Erfoud and desert towns before reaching Merzouga. Depending on arrival time, you continue by camel or 4x4 toward the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset and the Sahara camp experience.

DAY 3

Merzouga → Rissani → Draa Valley → Marrakech

The route may pass through Rissani, Alnif, N’kob, the Draa Valley area, Ouarzazate and the High Atlas Mountains. This is a long travel day, but it completes the desert loop back to Marrakech.
