DAY 1
Fes → Ifrane → Middle Atlas → Ziz Valley → Merzouga
Your 4-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour begins with a morning departure from Fes. The route travels through the Middle Atlas region, with possible stops around Ifrane, Azrou and the cedar forest area depending on timing and conditions. You continue through Midelt and the Ziz Valley before reaching the Merzouga area near the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Overnight: Merzouga area or Sahara desert camp, depending on arrival time and accommodation plan.
DAY 2
Merzouga Sahara Experience
This day gives you more time around the Sahara instead of rushing through it. Depending on your interests, the day can include time near the dunes, local desert villages, fossil areas, nomad-style stops or simply a slower experience around Merzouga. In the afternoon or evening, you continue toward the dunes for the camel ride and Sahara camp experience.
Overnight: Sahara desert camp in Merzouga.
DAY 3
Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley
Wake up early if you would like to see sunrise over the dunes, then return from the camp and begin the route toward the valley region. The journey may pass through Rissani, Erfoud and Tinghir before reaching Todra Gorge. After time to enjoy the gorge area, continue toward Dades Valley for the night.
Overnight: Dades Valley or nearby area, depending on availability and route timing.
DAY 4
Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech
After breakfast, continue through southern Morocco toward Ouarzazate and Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most famous fortified villages. After the visit, the route crosses the High Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n’Tichka road before arriving in Marrakech.
Drop-off: Marrakech in the afternoon or evening, depending on road conditions and stops.
